National Trust WoodStone Bird Nest Box
General purpose bird box for Sparrows, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Nuthatches and other similar sized garden birds.
Ideal for use in gardens. They will attract multiple small bird species. Each nest box front can be removed for easy cleaning and maintenance. WoodStone is constructed from a mix of concrete and wood fibres, these nest boxes are long lasting and extremely well insulated.
The WoodStone nest box safeguards against attacks from predators making them a safe place for birds to raise their chicks. The material naturally insulates the nest the birds make inside which creates a more consistent internal temperature than ordinary wooden nest boxes. This is especially important during the breeding season and ensures that young birds have a greater chance of survival.
Siting and Positioning:
It is suitable for siting on house walls, trees, shrubs and walls with yearly cleaning and maintenance it will give you and your garden visiting birds years of service. The box should be placed two to four metres above ground level with a clear flight path to the entrance hole. The box should be sited so that the entrance is not exposed to strong sunlight or winds.
Cleaning:
To clean these nest boxes the front panel of the box is removable. By twisting the metal key downwards the front wil easily come off.
Cleaning should be done between breeding seasons and please do not disturb the birds while the box is being used
