The anti-bacterial nature of wool means bacteria can’t get a good foothold on the fabric and therefore doesn’t need washing as often as other materials, it also makes it odour resistant. It can absorb 35% of it’s own weight in water and any water retained can easily evaporate into the atmosphere. Wool is one of the best natural insualtors we know about so it is warm and cosy in no time at all. Wool from Merino sheep is much softer than any other breed of sheep so you won’t have a scratchy feel that some heavier wool shawls can give you.
