Description
Honey Lily – Allium siculum subsp. dioscoridis Bulbs
Allium siculum subsp. discoridis sometimes known under the synonym Nectaroscordum siculum and various common names such as Sicilian Honey Garlic and Honey Lily.
An unusual and interesting Allium, the Honey Lily, with it’s upright form, fits in well with contemporary designs as well as cottage garden and other garden styles. Loose umbels of cream, green flowers bearing a stripe of reddish brown on the outside of each petal on flower heads produced in June and July. The Honey Lily can reach up to 90cm on strong green stems and strap like leaves. Plant in a sunny spot or part shade, they are easy to grow in a well-drained fertile soil and will multiply where happy.
While the flowers do make an interesting cut flower, it is worth bearing in mind that, like other Allium species, there is a mild oniony scent to them!
Choose from a pack of 5 or 10 bulbs.
These plants are for ornamental use only.
These will be packed in a paper bag and best planted on arrival.
