John Chambers Wildflower Seeds Bats in the Garden Wildflower Mix
Bats in the UK love scoffing insects, particularly flies, moths and beetles. Seeing bats swooping around your garden and pond at twilight is an amazing sight. The lack of these insects has a knock on effect for the larger animals that need to feed on them to survive. These plants will help attract some of the insects bats need.
Contains more than 20 British Native Wildflower species including:
- Bladder Campion
- Red Valerian
- Evening Primrose
- Yarrow
- Wild Chives
- Cornflower
- Common Fleabane
Coverage – 1-2sq. metre depending on how densley the mix is sown
Sowing Times – Spring or Autumn, sow directly where they are to flower for best results as some species prefer not to be moved.
Flowering times – Spring to Late Summer
Plants from later spring sowings will flower later than described
Wildlife value – Valuable sources of nectar for pollinators. This mix includes some catapillar food plants for moths and butterflies.
NB – Red Valerian also attracts the day flying Humming Bird Hawk Moth … every bit at exciting as seeing the bats.
Strong brown paper packet that can be recycled or composted. All sowing instructions and aftercare are on the reverse of the packets.
